A heart warming scene from the show. Our lead actors acted out a scene of reconciliation of a Corporal and his Superior. The moment took place where the room they were in talked about Lifting the Morale during the War, how the POWs crossdressed to lift up each other's morale and how entertainment was done in camps.
Docent explaining to the audience the history of the Double 10th Incident, and also the Death Railway, which inspired the team to do a Scene where a POW gets beaten up by a Japanese Officer. This scene also engages with the audience by roping them in using dialogues.
Loaned military outfits from a collector named Alvin. Being able to use outfits from a collector to make the show more historically accurate. The team even received advice from the collector himself and that had help elevate the accuracy even more.
From our first Preview, this scene depicts our main character, getting yelled at by his superior, for saying nonsensical things before being sent off. Scene 2: Changi Fortress tells us how Singapore fell to the hands of the Japanese.

An Interactive scene where we had the docent invite an audience member to join our fellow actresses in an imaginary tea party.
One of our lead actors, taking a group photo of the audience as part of the interactive segment of the Scene where the docent talked about contrabands like cameras etc. The actor acted out a fidgety, careful character to emphasise on keeping the contraband out of sight of the Japanese officers.

Our Project

Voices From Changi is a roving dramatised tour held at the Changi Chapel and Museum that aims to encourage more Singapore locals—particularly youths—to visit the museum and learn about Singapore’s history during World War II in a way that is both educational and engaging.

The production integrates elements of theatrical performance into the existing docent-led tour, combining historical narration with live acting to bring stories to life. Through character portrayals and moments of audience interaction, the experience fosters deeper engagement while maintaining the educational objectives of the museum setting.

The production operated on a collaborative team structure, with members contributing across both creative and operational departments. Responsibilities included directing and performance development, production coordination, stage management, administrative planning, and costume/props management.

Through shared leadership and cross-departmental support, the team ensured the smooth execution of eight back-to-back public performances within a roving museum format.
