Behind the Tapes: Mr Krishna Raj

Our Project

This documentary follows Mr. Krishna Raj, a Singaporean photographer/videographer
who taught himself to repair and digitize old VHS and cassette tapes. What began as
a small side project during the COVID-19 slowdown grew into meaningful work helping
people recover and preserve their family memories.

We will film Krishna in his home workshop as he cleans and repairs tapes, explaining
his process and what motivates him. Through his story, the documentary explores how
restoring old recordings connects people to their past and helps them relive moments
they thought were lost. Mr Krishna also shares how his own experiences of loss shaped
his understanding of memory and legacy. Overall of the documentary to encourage viewers to preserve their memories.
